Pretty much everyone played pretty nicely, but David Tennant, acts a little bit like Jim Carrey in this. He's very wierd. Honestly I will have to admit that I could not picture Hamlet acting this crazy in the book.

Full of interpretations, and makes you think right next to admiring all the great acting. David T. Was really good, and I couldn't imagine better actors for each part. Totally worth it.
  • Best Hamlet I've yet to see.

Tennant is a powerful actor. Here he is at once playful, full of wit, but no less angry and frightening in his rage. It is great stuff.
  • Shakespere would be proud.

This is an absolutely wonderful version of Shakespere's Hamlet. The way this show was portrayed made it easy to understand without loosing any of the story's essence with a modern translation. David Tennant was fantastic as Hamlet, to say the very least - showing the depth of the character's thought and emotion in every personal moment.(My absolute favorite part is Hamlet's contemplation of life and death. A classic for a good reason.) Patrick Stewart, typically a fantastic orator to begin with, was in his element. Little things, such as hidden cameras, one way mirrors, and hand guns, bring it up to modern understanding. I highly recomend seeing this, if nothing else then for the wonderful acting shown throughout the performance.
  • Best Hamlet, in my mind

I'm pretty sure I've seen every version of this play through my lifetime of English education, but this version, and in particular David Tennant's Hamlet allowed me to understand the angst of each situation, while at the next moment laugh with him at the ridiculousness of humanity. SO good, highly recommend

Hamlet has been made many times in many different styles but I would have to say this is the best one I have seen. Richard Tennent only does justice to Hamlet's depressing role and his "To be or not to be" speech is very convincing and eerie. I recommend Shakespeare to anyone who is up for a challenge, but once you get past the different speaking style you can see the beauty of the play.
  • Understandable!

I really enjoyed this. I don't normally do Shakespeare because I get hopelessly lost in the pages and pages of dialogue. But this was MUCH more understandable because they break up the dialogue and speak the lines like we modern folks speak. Also, the acting is very well done, so even when they talk so fast you only understand a word or two, you still get the meaning. I liked the modern day elements, but some of them were just distracting (like the "muscle" shirt Tennant wears in a couple of scenes). Overall, it was very good and has sold me on attempting to watch more Shakespeare.
